SPOILER ALERTThe full story below, including the ending.

Lena, I was lying. Look around you. I'm miserable. You're working me. You're trying to get me on your side. You said you're Captain America. An assassin named Yolena is sent to Malaysia to destroy all evidence linked to a project called Sentry. When she gets to the lab, she beats up all the guards and decides to blow up the place to get rid of the evidence.

Before she can do this, a lab technician shows up with a gun and asks if she was sent by the CIA director, Valentina. Yolena doesn't look bothered and she says she knows the laboratory belongs to a company called Oxy Group which is owned by Valentina. She says she's also aware that the scientists in the lab have made a breakthrough that can change the world. Well, whatever.

You're useless to me unless you can get me past it. The lab tech says the breakthrough will actually end the world and that Valentina doesn't understand what happened in the lab. Yolena says it's not her concern and that the lab technician can blame the US government for investigating Valentina's involvement with the OXE group. The lab tech still mentions that Valentina is making a mistake because Project Sentry isn't what she thinks.

Yolena doesn't seem to care and she takes down the lab tech before blowing up the lab. Elsewhere, a congressman named Bucky, who is also known as the Winter Soldier, can you help me get in there? arrives at Valentina's impeachment hearing. There, the head of the impeachment committee, Gary, questions Valentina's role as the chairwoman of OXE Group. Valentina says she hasn't done much since becoming the CIA director, but Gary talks about the rumors of the company having unregulated labs for human experimentation.

He adds that it's believed to be part of an illegal operation aimed at developing a superhum. Valentina immediately denies the allegations, but she insists that the US government must find ways to protect its citizens. Continues this investigation. Oh, of course not. Now that the Avengers are gone, she adds that her goal has always been to give the people a reliable hero.

She also mentions that she's not worried about the investigation because she knows the committee won't find anything against her. After the hearing, Valentina tells her assistant Mel to get rid of anything that can get her impeached or land her in a federal prison. Mel says one of their operatives already blew up a lab in Malaysia and Valentina asks if the new assignments have been sent out. Mel says all but one of their operatives have checked in.

Articles of impeachment have been brought against her. And Valentina looks concerned because she knows it's Yolena. Elsewhere, Yolena visits her dad, Alexi, who looks surprised to see her. He says they haven't seen each other in almost a year, but Yolena doesn't react to this. He eventually asks why Yolena came to see him, and she says she's thinking about quitting her job.

Alexe looks shocked and asks why she would want to do that. He also implies that working for Valentina is a good opportunity, but Yolena says she doesn't feel fulfilled. Alexe then tries to encourage Yolena by talking about how he was happy. You've been busy with work. Oh, yeah. When he used to be a superhero named the Red Guardian.

He says he enjoyed saving people and there's no higher calling than that. He also tells Yolena that it might be time for her to follow the same path. Elena doesn't respond to this. And as Alexe walks into his room to change his clothes, she leaves the house and calls Valentina to ask for a change in her role.

Valentina sounds relieved and says she was beginning to get worried that Yolena wouldn't show up for her next assignment. Yolena says she'll do it, but that she wants a public-f facing role when she returns. Valentina agrees and sends Yolena to a warehouse facility where Oxygroup's most sensitive assets are stored. She says there's a rogue operative who wants to rob her and that Yolena's job is to find out what the lady came to steal.

You know, we can find you some good guy material. Following this, Yolena arrives at the warehouse facility and sees her target heading into the building. She eventually tracks the lady down to a vault where she finds an open box containing documents about the Sentry project and the human trials. As Yolena takes a copy of the document, a super soldier named Jon attacks her.

Yolena looks shocked because he's not even her target. But Jon says he's there for her. After he knocks her down, he gets attacked by another operative named Antonia. Elena looks surprised, but Antonia says she's there for Jon. As the operatives start fighting each other, you're not even my target.

They unknowingly activate a suspended animation pod. Another operative named Ava soon arrives and it turns out that she's Yolena's target. However, Ava ignores Yolena and Jon to attack Antonia, who she has been sent to kill. After fighting each other for a while, Ava kills Antonia and this leaves the others shocked.

Almost immediately, a man named Bob wakes up from the activated pod and tries to escape before the operatives kill him. However, the entire room goes into lockdown and the operatives ask Bob who he is and what he's doing in the vault. Oh boy, that is no way to go. Bob says his name and mentions that he cannot remember how he came in.

Ava doesn't seem to care about Bob and she says she's leaving. Yolena says she can't let Ava go because she was sent to keep an eye on her. Jon also mentions that he was sent to stop Yolena from stealing some documents. Just then, Yolena realizes that Valentina sent them to the vault to kill each other because they're connected to her work with OXE.

Ava still tries to vibrate through the wall to escape or like someone was incredibly innocent. But it turns out that a sound barrier has been installed in the room to prevent her from using her powers. Elsewhere, at an event organized by Valentina, Bucky tries to convince Mel to help the House committee take down her boss. Mel doesn't seem interested in doing this, but Bucky still gives her his card in case she changes her mind.

Shortly after, Mel meets Valentina and tells her that the operatives are in the vault. Valentina then tells Mel that it's time for the next phase of her plan. Mel looks scared because she doesn't want to hurt anyone, but Valentina just takes away her tablet and activates the incinerator inside the vault. Just then, the lights in the room turn red, and Yolena and the others soon figure out Valentina's plan to incinerate the vault.

Elena then suggests working together to shut down the sound barrier so that Ava can go through the wall and open the door from outside. You can help with that and then let the system do its job. After shutting down the sound barrier, Ava does just as planned, and the others barely escape when she opens the door. Yolena passes out and revisits a moment from her past when she got a young girl killed while training to become a child assassin.

Interestingly, she sees Bob in the vision and wakes up only to see that his hand is touching hers. She looks confused and asks if Bob is okay, and he says he is. Meanwhile, Mel sees footage of the operatives working together to escape, and she tells Valentina, who seems pissed. She also looks surprised to see Bob, and she tells Mel to find out who he is.

She adds that she wants Mel to send a strike team to the warehouse to kill the operatives. Let's talking to yourself, more talking to us. As she gets out of the limo with Mel, the driver turns out to be Alexe, who realizes that Yolena is in danger. Interestingly, Mel doesn't like Valentina's approach, and she calls Bucky, who tells her to testify against her boss.

Mel says she can't, but that Bucky can track her phone and follow her and Valentina to a secret warehouse. Back at the warehouse, Jon asks Bob why he can't remember anything, and Bob says he doesn't know. He adds that the last thing he remembers was being part of a medical study. Jon doesn't believe this, and he implies that Bob is hiding something.

But we have to work together to get out of here. Bob seems pissed and insults Jon and this almost results in a fight. Yolena manages to separate them and she takes Bob aside to talk to him. Yolena says she can tell that there's something wrong with Bob because he has seen him talking to himself silently.

Bob says it's just how he is and that he thinks Yolena and the others are better off leaving him behind. Yolena then realizes that Bob is a loner who is depressed and she says she understands how he feels. She adds that she knows what it's like for loneliness to turn into something dark like a void. You don't like the way that I do it and you can do it yourself.

Okay. Bob asks what she would advise him to do and she jokingly tells him to shove it down and ignore it. Almost immediately, Jon finds a way back to the top of the warehouse. After sticking together to find their way up, they eventually reach the top. As Jon holds Bob's hand while trying to help him up, he revisits a moment from his past when he lost his job as Captain America and became a bad husband and father.

When he returns to reality, he looks shocked, but says nothing, even though he suspects that Bob had something to do with what he saw. Pretty ungrateful if you ask me. But you going to make it, Bobby? Elsewhere, Mel finds out more information about Bob and tells Valentina that he was a volunteer for Project Sentry.

Valentina doesn't believe this because all the test subjects died, but Mel says it seems Bob survived. Meanwhile, as Bob and the operatives head toward the warehouse entrance, they realize that there's a strike team outside and they agree to work together to find a way to escape. Bob says he thinks he can help because the medical study was supposed to make him better, but Yolena just tells him to stay behind her. I didn't really think this far ahead.

Genius plan, Bobby. Shortly after, Valentina arrives with Mel and tells the strike team leader to use a non-lethal approach to take down the operatives because she doesn't want one of them to get hurt. Almost immediately, the operatives cause an explosion to lure the strike team into the warehouse. With this, Bob and the others are able to escape.

After taking down some of the soldiers and switching their clothes, before they can leave the scene in a truck, they're stopped by some soldiers and Bob decides to sacrifice himself by drawing enemy fire so that the others can escape. After Bob gets shot several times, Yolena and the others look sad as they escape. Part of the medical team need to get the wound to the hospital. Suddenly, Bob stands up and flies into the sky, leaving everyone shocked.

He eventually passes out in the air. And as he lands near the warehouse, the impact triggers an explosion that unleashes a massive blast wave. Valentina cannot believe this and she starts thinking about making Bob a superhero. Elsewhere, Yolena, Jon, and Ava ditch the truck after it crashes due to the blast wave.

And they discuss how powerful Bob might be. Planning for Lethal. Then change the plan. After spending hours walking in the middle of nowhere, Alexi finds them and offers to give them a ride back home. On the way, he talks about how they make such a good team. He also suggests naming them after Yolena's childhood soccer team, which was called Thunderbolts.

Yolena looks embarrassed, and as she keeps telling Alexe that they aren't a team, they see some black trucks following them. As the trucks open fire on Alex's limo, Yolena and the others try to avoid getting hit. Just then, Bucky shows up and blows up the trucks before capturing the thunderbolts. Elsewhere, Mel tells Valentina that the explosion has made the news, and the impeachment committee is aware of Valentina's involvement in what happened.

Valentina doesn't seem bothered, and she tells Mel to get Bob sent to a fully operational lab in New York, where they can continue working on the Sentry project. A while later, they arrive in New York, and Mel tells Valentina about the risks associated with making an unstable person like Bob a superhero. to be accepted, to be chosen. Valentina doesn't seem to care and she insists on talking to Bob about fulfilling his potential. When she meets him, he looks scared because Yolena and the others told him about her.

However, Valentina tells Bob that Yolena and the others are bad people and that Bob has to trust her. She then tells him about the medical study he participated in while in Malaysia. She says it has made him better and that she believes he's perfect despite his flaws. As she touches him, she revisits the moment she watched someone kill her dad.

She looks shocked and decides to leave the room, but Bob stops her and implies that he wouldn't mind doing what she wants. Meanwhile, the Thunderbolts try to tell Bucky about Bob and the Sentry Project, but he doesn't believe them. He adds that he's taking them back to testify against Valentina so she can be impeached. Almost immediately, Mel calls Bucky and tells him about Valentina's plans. we threw it out along with everything else and how powerful she'll be if she succeeds.

She also tells Bucky her current location so he can come over to stop Valentina. Following this, Bucky releases the Thunderbolts and tells them to come with him to take down Valentina. When they get to the building, they confront Valentina and tell her to surrender because they're there to arrest her. Valentina finds this funny and before they can do anything to her, she reintroduces them to Bob, who is now dressed as a superhero called Sentry.

Valentina says Sentry is going to be the world's new superhero and that he's stronger than all the Avengers combined. She also mentions that Sentry's first mission is to take down the Thunderbolts. Bob tells them to surrender because he doesn't want to hurt them, but as they attack him, he easily beats them up. They eventually look scared and run out of the building because they're no match for Sentry.

Valentina looks impressed and implies that Sentry will work for her and follow her instructions. I know it's been hard since Olivia left you and took your kid, but still. Sentry asks why he has to do that, and Valentina looks shocked. Sentry says a god shouldn't have to take orders from anyone, and that it seems Valentina doesn't really know him.

Valentina then realizes that Sentry cannot be controlled, but before she hits a kill switch to knock him out, he grabs her neck and attempts to kill her. She drops the switch in the process and as he continues trying to suffocate her, Mel enters the room and uses the kill switch to knock him out. Valentina looks relieved and tells Mel to call a cleanup team to get rid of Bob's body. Meanwhile, the Thunderbolts argue over what to do next, and as Yolena seems pissed, she says they're all a bunch of losers.

As she walks away, Alexi follows her and encourages her to remember how she liked being relied on to protect people. Interestingly, Bob's dark side suddenly takes over his body and becomes a villain called the void. Valentina's strike team tries to take him down, but he just makes them disappear and traps them in a dark realm. That there's a bad guy and a worse guy.

This causes a helicopter to crash into a nearby building. And as the debris falls from the sky, the thunderbolts work together to protect the people in the area. Just then, the void begins to spread its darkness around the city. And it also traps many people in a dark realm where they'll be forced to revisit their worst memories.

As everyone tries to hide, Yolena realizes that the void can only be stopped from within, and she walks right into the darkness to find Bob's consciousness. Alexi tries to go after her, but Bucky and the others stop him. In the dark realm, Yolena reles her haunted past, which includes memories from when she was training to become a child assassin. The forces of darkness in the realm also attack her, but she eventually finds Bob's consciousness.

Meanwhile, Ava suggests going into the darkness to find Yolena. Bucky says it's dangerous. Jon then supports Ava and talks about what he saw earlier when he held Bob's hand in the warehouse. I don't know. I hope I've done some good. Back in the dark realm, Yolena tells Bob that he has to stop, but he says he's not the one in control.

Yolena asks if he'll just sit and do nothing, and he says there's no point fighting the void. He adds that the room he's currently staying in is much better than the other ones, which remind him of his worst memories. Almost immediately, Yolena sees a memory from Bob's past when his dad insulted his mom and wanted to attack her. Bob tried to defend his mom and this got his dad pissed.

After Bob's dad walks away, his mom scolds him for confronting his dad. She also mentions that Bob always makes things worse. Elena feels sorry for Bob and tells him to ignore her earlier advice to shove down the darkness inside him. She says he has to fight and overcome it because shoving it down doesn't make it go away.

As she says she can help him, the forces in the room start throwing things at them. There is no us. There is no we. Before they can get hurt, Alexe and the rest of the Thunderbolts enter the room and save them. Bob thanks them for coming and Yolena suggests going to all the rooms to find a way to overcome the void.

After going through different rooms containing Bob's memories, they reach a laboratory where they see Bob's dark side. Elena remembers the lab as the same one she blew up in Malaysia. And Bob says it's where he signed up for the medical study because they promised that the trials would make him better. Suddenly, the void stands in front of them and says he cannot let Bob leave.

He also traps the Thunderbolts and prevents them from helping Bob, who tells him to let them go. The void refuses and says the Thunderbolts don't care about Bob. He adds that Bob will always be alone in the world and that he'll never become a hero. Bob seems pissed and attacks the void.

As he starts beating up the void, his body slowly gets consumed by darkness and the thunderbolts look shocked. You thought you were going to be some great man. Alexi then helps Yolena escape so she can hug Bob and stop him from completely getting consumed by darkness. She also tells Bob that he's not alone, and the others soon free themselves and hug him.

This makes Bob feel much better about himself, and he overcomes the void. With this, Light returns to the city and everyone trapped in the dark realm gets released. The Thunderbolts praise Bob for what he did, but he doesn't seem to remember what happened. Just then, the Thunderbolts spot Valentina and decide to arrest her.

However, she tricks them into showing up for a staged press conference where she takes credit for bringing them together. The Thunderbolts look shocked, but Valentina introduces them to the public as the new Avengers. Bucky and the others cannot believe this, but Valentina seems pleased. Since there's nothing else they can do, Yolena steps forward and tells Valentina that they now own her.

Can't kill her, huh? Maybe when we take her in. After Bob survives a medical study that makes him invincible, Valentina tries to recruit him to become a superhero under her control. Bob rejects the offer and implies that he's too powerful to take orders from anyone. Following this, a kill switch is used to knock him out.

But this triggers his depression and insecurities, which turn him into a villain called the void. Before the void can completely trap humanity in despair, a team of anti-heroes work together to save the city by helping Bob overcome his dark side.
